Default BikeMaster Turn Signals

I bought new front and rear turn signals for my '83 Honda Shadow VT500C. These are the ones I bought: Honda VT500 C FT Shadow Ascot REAR turn signal lamp light left right 83-86 | eBay

My question is what stems do I need for the front and rear?

I've read about people having problems with the rear stems, being too long. Do I need short stems for mine? I think the long stem, with the long bolt is WAY too long for my bike. Do I need part #26-4504 my bike?

Turn Signal Stems

Also, do I need the short stems for the front as well? Same part # as I listed for the rear?

Thank you for your time!

My 84 VT500 has the 4503 (long) on the front and the 4505 (short) on the rear.

Thank you. I assume you meant the 4504 (short) for the rear?

Also, how did you wire the front turn signals? My fronts only have 2 wires, while the new ones from BikeMaster have 3 wires. One Red, one Black, and one Black with White Stripe. Thank you!

Sorry, fat fingered that one. 4505 on the rear, 4503 on the front.

Fronts should be 3 wire, ground, turn, and running. Rears are 2 wire, ground and brake/stop. Mine were there, but the stems were broken. The last ones I ordered were hard plastic in the center, not rubber. You want the rubber if you can get them.
