First minor repair on my bike.. I know it was this way when I got it but I didn't realize until I checked yesterday to make sure the tool kit was there.
The part needing repaired was the right side battery cover/tool kit cover. The post that attaches in the grommet was cracked right where the plastic diagonal braces meet. Crazy glue didn't hold the plastic to plastic so I cut a few splints out of 1/4" x 1/4" x 1" cedar shim and gorilla-glued them into the slots. Seems to be holding very well right now. This will have to do until I can get some after market chrome covers =)

JB Weld works too. Ran that way on my 83 Magna for over 10 years.

Another trick that works, drill a small hole in the top center of the cover. (where the seat can hide the hole). Then use a black zip tie to secure the cover to the frame.
