Default How long did your clutch last ?

I have a 2007 Shadow spirit 750DC with 31677 miles on it. The clutch is not slipping yet but I can no longer get adjustment I want so I'm having it replaced.
I just wanted to know what folks have been getting out of a clutch ? I know it will vary depending on how folks use them but I'm still interested in seeing mileage vs years on the road.

Thanks,

Clue

I've got close to 46,000 original miles on my Aero and no problem whatsoever with the clutch.

1985 model here... with only 20K on the clock....

Not knowing how hard the PO was on the clutch, I have no idea how long it will hold out, but so far, so good... works like a new one after changing the fluid and adjusting the cable Which is surprising since the bike is 27-28 yrs old...

Could just be that your clutch cable has stretched.

Thanks,

It could be just the clutch springs are weak. I hear changing to Barnett clutch springs is a very good upgrade. I have never heard of the clutch wearing out, on a Shadow Aero 750, anyway. I was on a another forum where a guy had 150,000 miles on his, and only replaced the clutch springs.

Good luck, C.W.

This is the cheapest and will probalbly cure your problem. Cables aren't about how many miles but how often they are used. Like inner city vs highway driving and how they cared for, stored outside or in a garage.
