Default 90 VT1100 drag bars

I installed drag bars onto my 90 VT1100. The problem I am having is with the throttle control wires (push & pull) I have tried rerouting them but it seems that they are simply too long. When the grip (w/ throttle tube) is installed on the drag bars, it seems to bind it such that I have a permanent cruise control. I accelerate and the throttle does not return. Adjusting the grip by moving it further out on the handle bar to were its barely on makes it act normal again. Basically my cable is ~ 4" too long. I have tried routing it differently to see if it helps, but I still have the same issue.
I was wondering if anyone else ran into similar problems installing drag bars. Any good recommendations for custom cables?

Thanks
Drew

Go to the Flanders web site or Motion Pro. Order shorter cables and hoses. OR the parts to shorten the ones you have. Have you tried rerouting the lines????

Thanks 93gc40 for the response

I went to the Flanders website and used the Motion Pro cable selector tool, but it says none are available for my bike, 90 Shadow VT1100

I tried rerouting the cables and they still bind. It seems like the problem lies more with the metal sleeve that connects to the control box. The sleeve is on an angle and long forcing the cable at an awkward angle when the grip is all the way on. Sort of an off plane twist.
