Ive got another electrical issue with my bike. The light for the brake will not turn on. The rear running light is on but there is no power for the brake light. I traced the power up to the fuse box and it stops after that. At first thought it was easy, the fuse probably just blew. Fuse was fine when i looked at it and even tried switching it with a fuse i knew was good and still no power directly after the fuse connection. Im not sure of where to go from here. Any suggestions?

you could try this..
get two small crock clips, and a yard of wire as a test lead..first link the brake switch..yes...no.. if yes check adjustment or replace switch if no move on to the light..two connectors one to frame usually via switch, link that to frame..yes... fault switch or wiring..other wire link to battery yes link to fuse yes fuseholder or wire... no.. bulb holder or bulb.. John.

Trouble shooting electrical 101. The problem is between the last place you have fire and the first place you don't have fire. If you have no fire immediately after the fuse connection then that is where the problem is. If you can get to the back of the fuse box test to the fuse connector itself. If you have fire there test to the wire an inch or two away from the fuse. Stick a straight pin thru the wire if you have to to test it. If you have no fire there the problem is where the wire is crimped in the fuse holder.

Another possibility considering the bike is 27 years old would be a loose or corroded connection that the fuse slides into. In 40 yrs as a truck mechanic I ran into that problem numerous times. You can use emery cloth or a thin nail file to clean the corrosion. There should be room to contact the socket with a test light with the fuse installed to see if that is the problem.
