Default Exhaust Question

Anyone know if a 2005 Honda Shadow 600 Exhaust will fit on a 1989 Honda Shadow 600? Found a used exhaust but I don't know if it will fit. Thanks,
Rob

Rob....go to any oem honda parts dealers online....like bikebandit...and look up both years exhaust parts #..... If there the same then it will fit.....if # is different then it wont.....what your looking for is if honda has different exhaust for different years......

It will fit at the motor.. The issues will be the location of the hanger brackets and matching the contours of the body work..

Thanks for the advice, I checked on bikebandit and the mufflers are off on the last digit. Is it worth taking the bike with me and holding the new pipes next to the bike to see if it fits or is it going to be a waste of time since the part numbers don't match perfectly?

It is up to you and how far your willing to explore customizing stuff. Easy stuff is the the bolt on stuff, and just because part numbers dont match doesnt mean it wont fit. Its bolt sizes and clearance that usually determine that. Or you can retap stuff and cut/fab stuff together with the right tools and know how.
