Default 92 VT1100---Which Spark Plug

I just spent a bunch of time reading a lot of the spark plug threads---Most said the manual calls for normal being NGK--DPR8EA-9----What I just took out are DPR7EA-9----Which would be correct for my VT1100---And what is the correct gap setting----Thanks

Kenny

Now don't quote me on this but I believe the DPR8EA-9 runs slightly hotter than the DPR7EA-9 and people tend to put in a cooler running plug when they plan to go riding for extended distances on the highway. I personally run the DPR8EA-9 because the manual told me to... not to mention I live in philly and do a lot of city riding.

The DPR8EA-9 is the colder of the two plugs. The plugs come pre gapped, but i like to check before installing....anyone got the gap spec?

There should be an emissions label with the gap setting on it hidden somewhere on your bike - I think mine is behind the left side cover on my '96 VT1100C.

As for them being pre-gapped, they're somewhat close, but never rely on what comes out of the box - what happens if they were dropped somewhere along the way?

Precisely! That's why I like to check them before installing

^^^^^^^^For the 92 VT1100??---Does anyone have the owners manual for this year and model to verify plug and gap.

Also, what is the basic effect as to a little hotter/colder plug----I am running a little rich on purpose cause of the pipes---So what might work best 7ea/8ea---Thanks

Kenny

Very light, casual cruising, local back roads etc---Not hardly any freeway at all---I get on it hard through the gears a lot just for fun.
