Yeah mine is in good shape except for the rubber grommet, and another question for you. I seen on your rebuild that you waited till after the engine install to put the swing arm on was that for a reason of just personal preference

You can still find that grommet directly from a Honda dealer, part number 19205-MF5-010. You can, at least, find it here:
(19205-mf5-010) Tube,level Vt750c Shadow 750 1983 Usa 19205MF5000

That part number has been superseded by this one:

Regarding the transmition, I installed the engine first, because of the clearence to the axle. You can't insert the engine if the shaft is there.
I see your problem. Without the center stand you have to assemble the rear wheel to have the bike up for engine installation. I think you may have to hold the bike from the ceiling or weld the center stand back in, even if only temporarily.
Maybe someone can suggest something different.

Well I started pulling my parts motor apart today to see how hard It's gonna be to pull mine apart, and to see if the crankcase is the same.

Sorry for the slow updates, I am working on multiple projects. I am still in the process of pulling the parts motor apart haven't took any pics of it but will take plenty with mine. I am really glad to have this parts motor as a learning experience, between that and mattyo's thread it's coming along nicely.

Are you talking about the drive shaft? Because I took my engine out and put it back in with the drive shaft in place. Yeah, you don't have much wiggle room but it is do-able.

Yeah I was wanting to make it a roller before I started messing with the motor but kinda late now lol

I used a scaffold tower, they just slot together. I erected it around the bike then I strapped the frame to it from above and the sides, It was easy for me because my workspace has a 14ft 6inch ceiling..

I was indeed talking about the drive shaft.
That is good news. I was convinced that there was no way that engine would get in with the swing arm in there. Thanks for setting that one right.

thanks for the replies, hopefully I can get some time to acually work on the bike. I almost am at the point to split the crankcase on the parts motor.
