Carb jet and air filter?

When I bought this 2003 shadow Ace 750 the guy gave me a stage 1 dyno carb jet kit! Well first off I would like to know if putting this kit on is worth it or not? It does have after market exhast on it already! If it is worth it should I get a special air filter and if so what one would u recommend? Thanks

any time you mess with the exhaust you will probably have to jet the carbs. if the bike is running fine now, isnt back firing, doesnt seem to be at a loss for power, and is getting roughly the gas mileage it is supposed to get then i wouldnt touch the carbs or put in an after market air filter. i would ask a shop or the exhausts manufacturer what size jets they recomend before putting in the ones you were given.

Well I have the jet kit and was wondering if it will increase proformance? It seems to run good but seems to load up at high speeds, I thought it was the gas but now Im wondering if it is the exhaust? What they did was cleaned the inners out of the stock exhaust and put in the after market exhaust to keep the stock look, so I have no ides what make the aftermarket exhaust is? If the stage one kit I have wont hurt, id rather put it in, but if there is a chance it will hurt it I dont want to do it! Just let me know, Thanks

I would go have the bike put on the dyno. Get a good read on the A/F.

Yeah im sure, he told me he never got around to putting the jet kit in, eventhough he already had it! Just have been to busy!

It's super simple bud. I think all bikes should atleast come with stage 1 since imo they run a little lean for EPA junk. I'd say throw on stage 1 and just adjust mixture from there.

I would do it to a stock ACE!! worth it just for the throttle responce.
personally I'd go with with the 42 pilots as well.

How much other modding would I have to do if I went 42 pilots? Isnt that like a stage III setup? I was just wondering, thanks
