thats a valid point i thought the same but could'nt find anywhere that would split them which is frustrating.

The carbs are attached to each other trough 2 screws, part #6 on this fiche:
Honda Vt700c Shadow 1986 Usa Carburetor (assy.) - schematic partsfiche

Those bolts strip easily but if you do strip them, just drill the heads of and the carbs will split apart. Take a LOT of photos of the process.

What part of England are you in..there must be a bike breaker somewhere near you..or even a honda repair shop that will have a scrap carb that you can use the case of..

or maybe you can use liquid metal and drill and cut a new thread.

Have searched high and low for a new set off carbs and have so far come up with nothing hoping i can find some else all hopes of riding the mighty shadow will be up in smoke !

i believe these are the only carbs that will fit 16100-MK7-505 (replaces 16100-MK7-671)

thanks for that pm the guy he wont drop the price and they didnt come off a runner so called 25 bike breakers today still no look not looking to hopeful at the moment sure some will turn up.....
