Hello everyone,
I was wondering if anyone could help me out finding some saddle bags for my 1997 Honda Shadow 1100 ACE. I upgraded this year from an 1989 1100 Spirit and after riding with leather bags the last couple of years. I really want to move to hard ones and i want to get them painted to match my current bike. I just don't know really where to look for a set of good hard bags and the mounts without getting ripped off. If anyone has any suggestions or experience with this it would be greatly appreciated. I was also looking at getting the Pyle 700 watt mp3 player system. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this type of system as well. Lastly i am wanting to replace my stock exhaust with something alittle louder and throatier. Any suggestion are very much welcomed. Thank you all in advance for your thoughts and ideas. Ride safe out there. |

Rawhide69,
I will have to do some research to see if those will fit right, but they look pretty nice. How loud were they when you had them on (compared to factory)? Also where about are you located so i can get an idea of the total cost? 70mercgt, Thanks a lot for the assistance. I will definitely check out the for sale section. |

Not much louder than stock pipes & main reason I changed them is I wanted to keep bike original & was lucky to find stock pipes. I live in South Beach OR.

Check out the TSUKAYU site. Great hard bags. I love mine.

VT1100C pipes will not fit an ACE.
My personal favorite for exhaust is Vance and Hines. The others managed to break from vibration. Be ready to rejet the carbs if you change your exhaust.

Hey SuperboyX did you have to get different exhaust when you got the bags? The ones that I've seen you would have to get the exhaust that goes on both sides instead of one. Thank is one of the main reasons i was looking for different set.
95acerider, I was leaning towards the Vance and Hines. The runner up so far is Cobra. Do any of you have any experience with the Cobra exhausts? rkforrest, do you have good sound when you're doing 70+ ? I am not really worried about the bass as long as it is loud enough to hear when i am cruising and they sound good! Thank all of you for your information and ideas. They have all been very helpful and i look forward to reading any more idea or experiences that anyone has had that would help. Have a wonderful gay and ride safe out there. |
