Hey there all I am a newbie and I have been riding out here in Southern California for almost a year now. I love my Phantom and i just ordered the Short Shots for it. Do I "HAVE" to do anything else other than putting these bad boys on? Some have said that I must get a power commander too? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all!

I got the black ones as the bikes I have seen with those suite me better than the chrome. Thank you all for all the feedback it is much appreciated. I went down not to long ago as the cars out here in southern California like to jump over the double yellow lines and he took me out and took off. I now have a dent on the tank also but a new tank is really expensive. I might have someone try to pull the dent out. Any thoughts? I will post picks and video when pipes come in they should be here in a week. Oh can anyone tell me or post link on what crush gaskets are? They don't get included with the pipes when purchasing them?

#3 is the crush ring. Keep in mind I have a Cobra Exhaust and it didnt need the crush rings. Dont know if the VH's need them. But there ya go. Also any local Honda dealer should have them if you need them.

When fitting the new pipes to the fuel injected Black Spirit/Phantom, you'll either need to drill and tap some holes for the o2 sensors or get some 'eliminator' plugs off ebay to plug into the management system doing away with the need for the wires.
There certainly isn't a need for a Power Commander V or such with aftermarket pipes, and even a K&N air filter, however, to get the best from the bike, if you do anything else like de-snorkling or want a smoother - or more fuel efficient running bike you can get a PCV and sort it out. Like I said though, unless you're looking at more modification, and aren't fussed with getting more grunt from it then you're fine without one.

Awesome! I thought it was a standard thing on the phantoms/black spirits. I'd be really interested to see if the HP/Torque value at the wheel is any different to those that do have the sensors.
