Ok, I've searched high and low for this answer and it should be simple, but I keep coming up without an answer. What is the volumetric difference between the top and bottom marks on the dipstick on my 2004 Sabre. I have read 6 ounces somewhere, but I am thinking that was on the 750cc bikes. It doesn't use a whole lot of oil but adding oil is always a guessing game for me. I have read the Clymers and the manual and they all say to keep it between the lines but not how much it takes to go from the bottom line to the top line. I realize that this volume is probably metric (duh) and no exact amount, but at least looking for a ballpark amount. Thanks!

I've seen this same question on other forums and have never seen an answer.
All of my small engines just have upper and lower marks but never state how much between the marks. Next time you do an oil change, why not run a test and post the results? |
