Default 1985 Shadow 700 Oil leak and Wet

My bike is bleeding oil out arround the pump and filter area.

I have no idea where to start looking for the dirrect source.

Could it be leaking from a oil filter not tight on? I didn't have a filter wrench to make it super tight. But with as much as its leaking back there I can't imagine it would be from a loose filter.

Also the oil pump area seems kinda bent.(from a previous owners). The bike has seen some serious falls in its lifetime.

Yha no idea where to start looking. It all seems to be comming from the back and botom of the engine though.

the exaust is a little whiteish gray but only when at idle and putting allong.

Small update. Opon verry close inspection I noticed wet oily runoff from the head gasket, just in front of the starter. It also lookis like it might be bulgeing out. thinking like a watterfall, if it was leaking from there I think it would cause every surface below the leak to become wet?! Seeing as i just dumped .75quart of oil back into it. Ill keep a eye on that spot.

Still any ideas? I would also believe that gasket would require major disasembily?

Looks like I might be re-gasketing the bike. Well guess once every 40k miles and 26 years huna...

Thanks for any input..

That's a PITA job to do. You'll have to remove the engine to do that. But it can be done. Just follow the Honda Shop Manual or the Clymer as a second choice.

Check carefully if the leak is not from the clutch slave. There is a o-ring in there that wraps around the clutch actuator that avoids the engine oil to come out trough the actuator rod. Sometimes it gets leaky and the slave gasket is not design to hold oil. Try washing the bike with a hot water high pressure gun. Then check where the leak is coming from. it's easier than changing gaskets...
