Default Fuel leak after valve adjustment

I recently adjusted the valves on my 09 vt750c2. Took tank off to do the repair. While tank was off I turned it every which direction including upside down because I was installing LED's. After being re-installed I had drops of fuel leaking from the main line out of the petcock. I replaced the spring clamp with a regular hose clamp and it still leaked albeit a lot slower. I'm afraid to crank down anymore on the clamp.

It's leaking right at the hose and thinking maybe it's damaged. Was thinking about replacing the line and both spring clamps. Any other suggestions? Or anyone have a smilar problem?

Those hoses are intended to last forever or until touched by human hands.

Replace them!

I had the same problem on my 1992 VT1100 and I managed to patch it up by cutting about an inch off the hose..but I will still have to order another one when I get time..

John.

Wondering if you have a cut or slice in the hose . . . did any fuel leak out of the petcock when the tank was off? That would eliminate the tank/petcock as the source of the leak. At least fuel line is inexpensive to replace. Good luck. I adjusted my valves earlier this Spring. Easy job but very time consuming - especially removing the rear valve cover.
