As I move along in the rebuild/customization of my 93 vt1100 I have gotten the bike louder and back together but am staring to want more from it. To me, the obvious performance upgrades, changing from a drum brake to disk in the rear and adding power to the motor seem to be the logical next steps, does anyone make kits for either of those two upgrades? Also because of the MAC exhaust's routing of the front pipe next to the right peg and brake pedal, is there a kit that would move the entire control unit forward that doesn't cost 800 bucks? I am not opposed to some fabrication of parts but am concerned that if I start making parts that the one in the hand is better than two in the bush theory will prove itself correct

I would be very interested in that, it's a lot of money but the thought of having the displacement of a soft tail in a liquid cooled lighter bike, it would be a seriously badass ride, what do they recommend for carbs? I would guess if ya add 33% displacement you would have to swap out the carbs to somethin much larger to reep the benefits of your investment

There is no big bore kit that is going to bump the displacement from 1100 to 1450 (88ci) or bigger. I doubt that is even possible with a bore and a stroke. If those kits were available there would most certainly be discussion of them here. I'm not calling you a liar, just that you must be mistaken. Basically if you want more performance than an exhaust and rejet is going to give you (and that's a tiny gain to begin with) then sell the 1100 and get a bigger bike.

Ok I checked out that website ya posted and they had a kit for a 96 Aero 1100. What if any modifications were done to the engine between 93-96 with the C2's introduction? Are they close enough that the jug swap would work? Also where would I begin to look to find a reasonable carb to replace the stockers?

Honda stocks oversize pistons (50&25 over). Jetting is your best carb option. Also spark- hot coils and adjustable cdi (or look up the 4 degree advance on thins site). Kn filter. Pipes. And also need to beef clutch to handle the extra power. Key word on shadows= mid range torque. These are not hd's and they don't modify like an hd. I have found the big performance issue on my 98 1100 spirit is fuel, air, spark and exhaust. Also, my bike will dust most big air cooled v twins.

The motor that they have cams for is a single pin engine, all the others you are talking about at dual pin engines. Without uping the compression all these changes are not going to add much performance. There are no big bore kits available for any of the 1100 motors. The one company that did make a kit for one of the older 1100's no longer makes them.
