I really enjoy my bike. The way it rides, handles, looks, gas mileage (when Im not hard on the throttle). All the mods I have done and made for my bike have made it even more fun. BUT IM LEFT WANTING MORE!!!!! In the power dept. That is the only area that my bike and Im sure other Areo 750 owners wanting more. I have recently looked into doing a "Dial a Jet" install and "Timing Mod" for maybe a horse of two. But nothing that will be noticeable. I know some will say, then buy a bigger bike. In today's economy not so easy to do, as we all know. And others will say well its not a sport bike. You know what Your right. I traded a 2000 VT1000F aka 996 Super Hawk ( which was a damn fun bike) for my Aero. That owner wanted a sport bike, I wanted a cruiser. Was a straight up trade. Long story.
So my dilemma, more power from my Aero 750. Any insight??????

there's nothin' really you can do. just ride the thing. i had an 04 aero 750 also. great bike.. just didn't fit my needs as much as the vtx1300r. found an absolute insane deal on the vtx and i bought it.
your aero is unique and great lookin'. i do miss the mpg and handling(little more nimble) of the aero.

I knew I wouldnt be the only one. I guess doing a bunch of porting and polishing or some valve work might help.

True.....But I have read on here there was someone who bored and changed pistons and did some valve work. But I cant remember if it was on a 750 or larger bike. Been doing some looking but cant seem to find it again.
Any how there has to something.

there is a company making high comp pistons and bored out sleeves etc however....i ran into a man on an ultra glide and he was oogling over my bike....i asked him id love to trade and his response was "i should have never sold my 750 aero...not only was it nimble but it had great mpg's. now i have all the power in the world and its good for what? a straight shot down the interstate? so i can what enjoy my bike on the weekends only? with my 750 i enjoyed it every time i cranked it up no matter where i was going and on top of that my wallet enjoyed it too." i agree with this man big time however a vtx 1300r would be nice haha

So I'm thinking after I do a the timing mod and maybe the dial a jet I'll focus on breaking and handling. Stainless line better pads and shoes. And then new springs and rear shocks.
Maybe some time down the road I'll look into having the heads worked on. But then the issue of fueling comes into play. UGH!!!!! LOL Sent from my DROID RAZR using Motorcycle.com Free App

Why not try listing it on Craigslist as a trade. You can get a bigger bike that maybe not as nice, since yours is tricked out... and then make your mods on the new bike.... you can do it over time to make it affordable, and still get the power you are lacking.... you can lose some years on the bike, but as long as it is sound engine wise and doesnt have a ton of miles why not.
Maybe you can find someone who wants mods over power and cant afford mods??? it would be a win win...
