Need some good advice. Twice now my 07 Aero has acted like its out of fuel. Both times it happened about 100 miles into a tank of fuel. Pulled over, flipped it to reserve, bike fires right up. Go to the gas station and it only takes 2.7 gallons which means I have a gallon left.
That is EXACTLY how it is supposed to work.
You've got a 3.7 gallon gas tank. 0.9 gallons are "in reserve". Run the bike through about 2.8 gallons with the petcock set to "ON" and the bike will stumble. Don't get the petcock flipped to reserve quickly enough and the bike will stall. Ride to the gas station and you will put in about 2.8 gallons.
Why are you only getting 2.7 gallons in? If you're gonna sweat a tenth of a gallon then you'll have to seriously consider the fuel tank punch mod
. If you're concerned about only getting about 37 MPG then there are a lot of things to do.
