2 questions for yall, When i start her up, she will idle and rev when chokes, but as soon as i take it off, it either idles very rough, or just dies.
And when i put motor in gear, it dies, i need to find the kick stand shut off switch, where does it connect to on the motor? thanks! |

Assuming that you're leaving the engine run on the choke long enough for it run well without the choke......the carbs need to be cleaned. You can try running some SeaFoam thru the carbs, but there is no substitute for a good cleaning.
On the safety switch, are you putting the tranny in gear with the side stand down or up?

I think i have the choke/idle question figured out. Im not big into motor cycles, but correct me if im wrong, with the air filter off, the carb barrels are bare open, the intake is taking in too much air which causes it to die? Right or wrong?
And i have just the motor, i read up and i heard this was a suitable motor for a dune buggy, so i got it. I just have some fine tuning before it gets installed. I assume the man who wired this motor for me grounded out the kickstand shut off switch. Which leaves me with a wire i need to snip. |
