I cant stomach the $150-$300 price of new floor boards. I have access to a metal shop (i work at a high school) and could fabricate my own from steel. Anyone aver do this? Any plans, or do's and dont's to share. I'd really like driver and passenger boards for my 1997 1100 ACE. I think I can fabricate these for less than $30 of raw metal cost and then have a high school student weld them up for me as thier project. Talk me in or out of this!

Here's a shot of the floor boards I made for my bike.
![]() I used 3/8" aluminum. The rubber and chrome cover on the 750 Aero stock foot pegs comes off leaving a square peg. I bolted straight through the floor board and the peg. I've been meaning to get some stainless button head bolts to replace the hex heads but haven't gotten around to it yet.

I put these on my bike for $150. Had to make some boards to put the covers on, but wasn't to hard.

Thanks bro! Here is a pic; link to album follows ...
![]() Floor Boards pictures by exit39 - Photobucket I also did these about a week before I did the above. It was experimental as my neighbor gave me a small piece of diamond plate. They worked well and definitely broke from the norm, but I had already had in my mind to fabricate the teak wood ones. Still have them though ... if I ever feel a bit naughty!
