Cold weather cylinder head coolant leak

I have an 83 vt500c with 51k on the odometer. I have noticed a small external coolant leak on the front cylinder on the left front corner SOMETIMES when it is warming up when cold, 14-17 degrees. It is not a big leak, maybe a 10 to 15 drops or so and seals back up when it warms up.
I figure I will have to go thru the motor but like to know if anyone else has had an issue simular to this. This bike is stored outside and it gets a little cool here at night.
If I got to tear it down, I will wait till it is too cold to ride for awhile.
