As I've had a few days to use the bike, since the plug change, I think I was wrong about the plugs... The bike still stalls relatively easily when cold-started, but it does seem to warm up faster with the new plugs in it. All in all, I'd say the plugs are a good thing.

The plugs help it start easier, but still needs to warm a bit but it sounds like your on the right track to getting it going good.
