Considering the heaviness of those little cans, there was probably more like 1/2 a cup left from earlier this year when she kept doing this and something ended up being clogged. With 99 miles on the trip ODO (and I normally get 125-150 per tank), there shouldn't be that much fuel in it but I could see it down in there as I was pouring it in.

My timing is less precise, hi idle until I get a my balaclava, helmet and glasses on. Drop it by about half while I'm checking the turn signals, brake lights, etc. Something just above idle to get me the first few blocks, then all the way in for the rest of the commute. I use Lucas Deep Clean, about the same amount 1 oz per tank. Only occasionally.

She's fine. Just seems to prefer a longer choke than others apparently.
I guess it was just the variation of temps the past 2 and a half months of sitting there. Does still seem a little "throaty" in the pipe but could just be my nerves too.

Respectfully, next time it has to sit for a while, fill it with FRESH gas, add some fuel stabilizer, and run it down into the carb(s). It'll be worth it in the long run. I've read too many threads about bikes that have sat for a long period of time having all sorts of gas/carb problems.
Good luck, C.W. |
