Default If you aren't lucky enough to have a garage kept bike...

How long do you choke and run your bike before taking off?
Mine has been sitting since Aug. 28, only started one time and dang, she is cold and sluggish!! Or is there something I should do to clear her throat from the long sit?

You can do this

How to use SeaFoam to clean your Engine - The RIGHT way!

or you can just throw some in the gas tank and take it for a run.

I go full choke for about one min then lower it as far as she will stay running. Usually no problems even in the low thirties.

I poured in about half a can and went about 3 miles and it is still bleh! Every single stop, she is wanting to cut out on me resulting in my riding the clutch to keep from popping it and dumping her. As well as rolling the throttle more than I normally would.

Doesn't sound like a cold engine problem to me. After 3 miles, your bike should be warm enough to do anything it needs to do...

try at least 20 miles on a road with few stops and lots of room to stretch..

if its really bad might have to run a tank of fuel thru her to notice a difference, I swear by sea foam, to help keep fuel system clean, or clean it to a point, its not a mirricale cure but close

Sounds like water in the float bowls to me. I would put in freash gas and drain the bowls 4 or five times. Only drain when the engine is cooled off or attach a drain hose so no fuel hits the engine.

Two things...The above Seafoam article is a for car...Putting a half of can in your gas tank...your not going to get any results in 3 miles...Run the crap out of it...refill and put
the other half in and again run her...it may take several cans to clean things up...it is
pretty good stuff...but it takes way more than a few miles for it to do its job...

Good Luck
