I am about to buy fork oil and drain my old stuff out but I dont know what to get....
My manual all it specifies is "ATF" fork oil. which tells me nothing. doesn't tell me what weight or anything. Any suggestions?

This site says that SAE 10wt can be used where SAE 10W20, ATF, ATF-D, ATF-D2 or D2 oils are specified by the manufacturer

Check for sure, but you need only about 1 qt of fork oil.
The price of genuine Honda fork oil at my local dealer is about $8
and that seems cheap enough for me since it will be several years before I need to change oil again.

Go with 15 or 20 weight forkoil instead of the 8 or 10 thats spec'd. It will firm up the front end and limit diving under breaking.

The weight of the oil changes greatly over temp ranges, see pdf. I'm currently using ATF in my cruiser but have used and liked Honda 8 and Harley E in the past.

In the chart the blue numbers are the viscosity when oil is heated up. Once oil is heated up many of them settle into viscosity in the middle of the range.

Mobile 1 Syn ATF has 40C viscosity of 36.3 and at a 100C 7.4, you can find the data on ATF mfg's website under "Product Data Sheet".
