So, as I'm getting worse health wise, circulation isn't as it could be so winter riding is terrible on the hands and fingers within 15 mins of riding. As with everything else I'm doing currently, I can't afford to buy anything like posh heated gloves or heated grips so thought I'd make a wind deflector.
Bent a couple of bits of steel, took one for a test ride and it worked. The unshielded hand was definitely colder - not just in my head, when I got back I made the mrs tell me which hand had the deflector on it purely because of the heat difference. Anyway, nothing to get excited about, but, if it helps carrying on the riding, these things have to be done. Obviously, as soon as the weather gets better they'll be off - there's nothing that is going to look cool on apes! stuck em on ![]() couple of pinstripe stickers and before clear coat they look like ![]() ![]() As I said, I think they still look crap - hence not spending much time on them, but, if it helps then for a short amount of time spent on them, job's a good-un.

Cheers chaps!
Pleased to report that they work brilliantly! So much so, that I never realised how cold the backs of your hands get!! Had a fair old blatt up the dual carriageway to the hospital and back this morning and I've still got toasty fingers ![]()

For a guy with one black upper fork, you're worried about looks? To tell you the truth, I think they fit right in on that bike. You did a nice job on them. You should consider extending the pinstripe theme to the rest of the bike.
