Leave the tubes attached to the main tank. Just release the clamps from the reserve tank side

Even Russian Roulette lets you win 83.33% of the time....yet 1 in 6 eat a bullet on the first try. I just don't see much value in willfully tempting fate these days myself...maybe I'm just getting too old and cranky, or maybe I care about other people too much to just STFU when I see stupid stuff...anyhow, rant off, and back to the regularly scheduled program. I hope you consider the message in the spirit it was sent, 83ShadowVLB.
Cheers! |

That black thing is known by the "snorkel" and it connects both carburetters with the air box, where the air filter is.
So after removing the fuel tank, remove that black snorkel. Now remove the fuel lines from the carbs, the throttle cables, the choke cables, the black vent tube connecting to a black T in the middle. Then release the clamps that attach the carbs to the engine and remove the carbs out. Be careful because they have fuel in them. Next view the 3 video I posted in a previous posting. Now open the fuel bowls. Remove the pin holding the floats. Remove the floats with the fuel valve that the floats push in and clean it with carb cleaner. Next remove the brass nut where that valve enters and clean the plastic filter on the other side: ![]() You should give a good reading on the manual to have a good idea of what to do. |
