Default Forward control extension help

I was putting on my scootmod extensions on my Honda shadow spirit. I had help when I was putting them on. I found out that the left side that bolts were switched. I went to switch them to how I wanted it. I was unable to take them off. The issue being I believed they were threaded in wrong. How can I fix this? Is just the bolts ruined or the threads in the frame?

Not sure I entirely follow you, but are you saying the bolts that were there when you bought the bike (though they may not be original) are stuck? If you are not certain of why they are stuck, try a couple things. First, heat and cool the bolt. The expansion and contraction sometimes gives you enough space to get the bolt out. I had to do this to the riser bolts, fork clamp bolts, and will likely have to do this in several other areas on my 01'. I used a high-powered, 200W soldering iron/gun but many guys use heat guns and torches. Took several heat/cool cycles on most stuck bolts.

Also, attempting to tighten a little can sometimes force a little room as well, allowing you to un-bolt. Hopefully, you won't have to drill out the bolts. That's a huge PITA. In my experience, a big bolt usually won't misthread all the way in so if they are flush, they may just be tight or you may just be supremely screwed. Best of luck, either way.

Until you get the bolts OUT, there is noway to know if the threads are damaged, bolt or frame.
