getting ready to put a set of long shots or dual v&h duals for baggers for a 1100t on my 98 aero 1100.
Is there an easy way to decide what jets will be needed?. In Ohio and ride in all type of temperatures. |

My 98 VT1100 Tourer had the V&H Dual baggers on it when I bought it (sig pic)....way too loud for me, and after multiple attempts at ways to quiet them down, ended up reinstalling the OEM exhaust (also came with it). The V&H look/sound good if you want to make some noise, but not my thing.
The PO told me it was rejetted for the V&H by the dealer, and looking at Dyno-Jet web site Stage One instructions, they show 160/165 main jets for this bike with aftermarket exhaust (and/or K&N filter if installed - I don't have). Their web site also indicates the Jet kit comes w/different needles. I assume those are what are in my Tourer's carbs, and although it runs fine with OEM exhaust, seems to run a bit rich and my mileage is only about 40-42mpg. I ordered the original jets (175/180) and needles and will install when they arrive to see if mileage any better. I did not really detect a noticeable performance difference between the V&H and stock exhaust, but admit I never really spent any time assessing that area. |
