UPDATE on 1983 bobber project
ive been so busy with school its been hard to get any work done, but ive managed to start repairing welds on my frame. the rust is worse than i thought, you all were right, to make matters worse, one of the rods threw a bearing and broke off right at the crankshaft, both piston walls are cracked, the crankshaft is damaged, and considering the high rpms this engine was at when it threw the bearing, and considering the crankcase is aluminum. its essentisally throwing a brick into a dryer, the engine is totalled. so i finally dug up a bike on craigsist that needs work, but has a good frame and engine. 22 k miles, so i shall get that and make one good bike from both of them and part out everything else, guy said he wouldnt take less than xxx$ without me even mentioning the price, he aint desperate to sell it so my greedy mind is debating if its worth the risk of haggling.
