Default New to me shadow had been sitting for 7 years

Here it's the only picture of my new to me 97 shadow. Since it's been sitting for 7 years or so, what maintenance or issues should I be looking for? Any advice would be great.

I'm pretty good mechanically so I plan on doing as much as I can.

The previous owner put pipes on it, not sure the brand and I don't know if it's been jetted. Is there any way to tell if it's been jetted properly?

Thanks.

Tires
Battery
Pull the tank and clean it
Pull the carbs and clean then rebuild them
Drain fluids and replace

I'd hang a set of stock pipes back on it. You can find them for peanuts. Enjoy the quiet.

All the above and spark plugs, air filter, gas filter. drain fluids includes forks, brakes and clutch. Your biggest challenge will be cleaning the fuel system-main gas tank-reserve tank-new lines-filter-pump and prolly rebuild carbs. If you get through that your flying. Of course you could hope it was stored right to begin with then most of your problems will vanish.

I'm just restating what was told to me. I bought it from a guy at work. I'll definitely have to double check.

Get her cleaned up I'm sure it will be a good bike for you. Enjoy and be safe out there.

This. All fluids for everything drained/flushed/freshened. Coolant too.

At the very least the gas, brakes, and clutch are cheap and easy.

Check the tires for dry rot. And after you get all the fluids changed out, see if it'll run before you tear it apart.

For rich/lean indication, pull a spark plug from each cylinder after warm-up and check it's condition.
