If it helps at all, here is how I did mine (see link). I used a $14 press tool I found at the local Cycle Gear. Saved the cost over the alternative.

Link to chain shortening: My Road to Rod

Visit my current '80 CB900C project
CB Lingo for My Road,
and my '91 VLX600 bobber build My Road to Bob,
and my '03 ACE750 sled build My Road to Rod.

Keep the rubber side down, unless of course you have a rubber head!
