Well I just bought me a new project 86 vt700 for $100 could not pass it up. real clean looking bike only thing is guy tool it apart before he found a new bike and lost interest. Now I am trying to put everything back together before doing to much work but I don't have a clue what these things are for. They are about 6 inches long and kind of splined on ether end. not even sure if they are for this bike guy had a few project bikes. any help would be great cant find thet in service manual. thank you

Those are drain tubes. They stick down in about the center of the bike. There is a service manual pdf in the sticky that I've been using. If you look in there at page 18-4 they show you one of those may be your battery breather tube. Page 1-13 shows another.
