swaping out the rear fender on ace

Im wanting to swap the rear fender and front fender out on my ace to make more of a bobber style bike. I just ordered the 2.5 inch lowering kit.

I want either a steel fender or a fiberglass. With the fiberglass fender could i still ride 2 up with out worrying about messing it up from the weight of the passenger? Also i want to swap out the ace fender struts for the spirit shorter ones. will these swap with no problem?

I just got my sportster front fender and it doesnt fit the tire is too wide so i wil probably buy a steel blank for that one also..

any input is appreciated.
