I'm too far away to measure your cables for you.. 12" ape not really enough info. The dirty answer is you need to lengthen the cable by at LEAST the amount of additional rise, from the new bars. What bars are you currently running, How wide are the Ape bars vs the old, what risers are you using, you going to run verticle or tilted, internal or external routing.

When it comes to mods no 2 bike are exactly alike. Not all 12" apes are the same. Not all 1" risers are the same. Just want you to pay attention. DO NOT buy your extended cables or hoses, based what anybody on the net says worked for them unless you know they are using the same setup as you. What work for other riders, gives me a starting point, rarely an answer. My advise is decide what bars you want, buy them and mount them. Using your stock setup as a reference, measure the amount of extention you need and order the rest of the parts. While you wait you ride with stock bars. Me, I would buy a DIY cable kit from Motionpro, and make my own cables, but thats me. I always get the measurments a little off, and I don't like to wait.

I installed Burly 14" apes and used 10" over clutch, 8" over throttle push, 8" over throttle pull, and 8" over hydraulic brake line.
I think the Burly 14" apes are equivalent to other brands 16", not for sure on this. If you rush this type of project you'll be rebuying parts. Buy the apes first and mount them on the bike. Then use a wire coat hanger or any piece of copper wire (a strand out of 14-2 housing wire is great) and bend the wire from hand control to the connection spot on bike. Then measure relative to the stock cable length. If I had to guess, I think you'd be okay with 6" over on your 12" apes, but why take the chance? Buy the bars first then measure.
