Default Speedo light

My light in my speedo went out the other night in my 2002 750 ACE. I took the speedo housing off and looked underneath. Saw two screws in it so I took them off hoping to separate the speedo from the chrome housing. Looks like the lens needs to come off and the speedo needs to come out from the top. Does the lens unscrew or pop off? I didn't want to break it. And another thing, I didn't see a place for a bulb to go. Are they replaceable? Not that I look at my speedo anyway but it bugs me that something is not working on it.

The speedo bulb is the two wires going into the rubber grommet on the right side of your pictures(brown and black wires). pry the grommet out and the bulb is a type 94 bulb.

For about the same cost of what the dealer will charge, you could get a LED replacement bulb and never see it burn out again.

Since we're talking speedo bulbs - I can see my speedo just fine, but the odometer is pretty dark. I haven't even looked at this myself, so apologies for that; but is there a separate bulb for the odometer?

Regarding the bulb, read through this thread, 1157 LED Tail Lamp Bulb Thoughts. In this thread I also did a comparison and took a few pics for the speedo light, starting on page two. LED is the way to go! And yes, just pull out the grommet where the wires are; that's where your bulb is.

My 2004 Aero came stock with LED, and there are 7 of them.

Speedo x3, Odo, Neutral, water, oil, IIRC.

Only one for the ACE. The plastic housing has a deflector in the design to help evenly disperse the light, thus reducing hot spots. A brighter bulb will do ya, however you'll need to go with an LED because it draws less energy and won't overheat your wires.
