Default Help identify these shocks

I'm curious to find out what type of shocks are on my '07 750 as they don't appear to be stock. Also I just noticed that they aren't mounted the same way as in inverted from the other side.

Obviously installed by a previous owner, but would these be considered an upgrade from stock?

Here's a couple of pics

Note the HD looking logo

Thanks in advance!

They are probably Harley shocks. I would not necessarily say they were an upgrade. Shock springs and valving are based on the weight of the bike and the length of shock travel. Those shocks could be off of Sportster or off a full size tourer like an Electroglide. The ones off the Sportster would probably be close but the if they are off a tourer then they would be oversprung and valving could be wrong also.

Thanks jpr. After looking around on the net I'm assuming they were off of or for a sportster but wasn't sure why someone would put them on a shadow. Maybe they were cheaper than the Honda OEM or progressives?

Any idea why they would be mounted one way on one side and opposite on the other?

I have seen a post on here where somebody was using Sporster shocks to lower the rear of the bike a bit.

They are probably Sporty take offs. They are also Progressives, since that is who build the HD OEM shocks. They are the same thing you would buy, basically, if you bought shock from progressive. The sporty version offers lengths and spring option not available for the Honda version. The main difference between the units is that the bushing for the HD is measured in inches and the Honda in MM.

Thanks 93!

Any idea why one would be inverted? Not sure which direction the rod should be pointed, but one is up and the other is down.

After looking into these shocks a little more I've noticed that these shocks aren't adjustable. Does progressive make non-adjustable shocks?

If they are Progressive shocksmade for Harley, that could explain the logo on the shock. Progressive shocks don't come with that logo on aftermarket shocks.. As far as one being upside down, whoever replaced them either wasn't paying attention or it wouldn't fit the other way.

Thanks jpr! They measure 11.5" from bolt hole center to center. It baffles me why someone would replace the adjustable stock shocks to non-adjustable progressives that were only .5" shorter.
