Default 1100c2 fuel issues? electrical? I'm lost...

Ok first of all thanks for taking a look and giving me an opinion. I am to broke to send my bike to the shop

Here is the story. I have a 2005 1100c2 shadow saber. I am a daily rider. I ride everyday as long is it is not raining. About a month ago my bike started dieing. It will start fine, idle fine. No backfires or anything. It sounds good. I'll stick it in gear and give it some throttle and it will go for a split second. Maybe 3 or 4 feet. Then it will start to choke out. It sputters, jerks then dies. I can start it up and it will do the same thing over and over and over. Now at first this would only happen maybe once a day, but now it happens almost every time I try to ride.
Now here is the kicker. I can give it a $hit ton of throttle and slowly let off my clutch. It will not die as long as I got the throttle back. When I get on the open road it runs smooth. I don't have any issues. God forbid I hit a damn stoplight or have to make a turn. It will do the same thing... choke jerk and die.

I have drained the tank, new fuel
check plugs,
cleaned air filter
ran a can of seafoam in the tank
checked battery connections/ power lvls
fuel filter
checked fuel lines, vent tube ect

Now first impression that I had was low end jets being clogged. but with me riding it as much as I do i don't see how that could happen. As well as i did run a can of seafoam in it. also the bike is fine when @ idle.....

I will try to get this video uploaded on YouTube that shows what it is doing. In the meantime any of you guys have any ideas?

Does not run correctly unless you give it lots of fuel.

Not likely to be a fuel problem, but adding fuel fixes the problem, thus too much air is a likely problem.

I would look at the carb to engine and carb to air intake boots and make sure they are all properly seated and tight.

Didnt even think of that.... I'll take a look at that and see what I can see. Any more suggestions?

Also I forgot to add that it does not matter if i have the choke in or out, still have the same issue.

If the carb boots were loose you would most likely get backfiring on decel. Are you sure your vent line is not restricted? Try popping off the gas cap next time it happens and see if it will run ok. If it does your tank vent line is restricted. It should be hanging down by the kickstand with the end open.

I tried that. It took me forever to get the key out of the gas cap with the cap off the tank but I managed. It did the same thing. I also checked the vent line. It was not restricted. I had the tank off and blew air through the tube and it came out freely.

That sounds like you only have one key..go buy another now, do you know how much it will cost you to buy the correct key if you lose or break that one..

Now remove the fuel filter and cut it in half lengthways, if it is filthy then you have dirty carbs and need to buy two repair kits and overhaul them.

Fuel, air, compression and spark are the only things you need

If it starts fine and idles fine and only stops when you put it in gear as you say, then does it die when you open the throttle while it is in neutral..

If not you have to ask what is different to the engine running in neutral and in gear.

John.

You prolly cant give it gas in neutral either, i'm guessing a gas problem. I'd clean the carbs and change the filter, if your careful it will cost you nothing but time.
