As soon as I bought my 1100 Sabre two years ago, I ordered the 15" Memphis Fats windshield. It came to about my chin and I had a lot of helmet buffeting. Luckily I bought it through my local bike dealer who swapped it out for the 17" Fats after I had ridden with it for a week. That extra 2" in hight greatly reduced the buffeting. A pair of Memphis lowers helped with the rest. YMMV

Actually I'm looking for style AND substance.

The Hondaline Windshield is far better quality and is designed specifically for my model Motorcycle (think wind tunnel).

It doesnt have or need that second windshield window that aftermarket windshields have in effort to have one-size fits all.

We'll see, worste case senario is I have to resell the Hondaline windshield
and go though some extra work. I like working (playing?) on the bike anyway.

There is an outside chance I will love the hondalines performance and I already know I like the looks, so there is HOPE.

have already made my decision, its getting installed. I'll wait for a warm day and in the meantime look forward to it.

I appreciate all the input about it, thanks everyone!

Happy New Year

That is exactly how I feel, a cruiser with a top speed of about 100mph can feel great, a bigger cruiser with about the same top speed looks and feels great, then when you need that sudden burst of speed to get you away from some idiot swerving across the road in a truck a sports cruiser seems heaven sent, the only bike I don't really enjoy riding is a sports/racing bike with the pedals behind me, drop handlebars and relying on the wind to hold my weight off my arms..

The trouble is that once you start a ride you can't change bikes halfway through the run..I guess what some of us really need is a "transformer."

John.

Please understand I wasnt talking about a "Perfect Bike".

I was thinking more about making the Bike the Best it can be with regards
to accessories of which the Windshield is one.

By installing the best quality accessories available one can make their Bike
the Best it can be (while not making it a custom one of).

What I was trying to convey is that the National Cycle Windshield is the only accessory on my bike that I feel isnt the best it can be from what is available, I know it and it bugs me a bit. I have put a lot of thought and effort in selecting accessories most are Hondaline, with some Kuryakyn
and some Show Chrome. I dont have any Chinese knock-offs or used
damaged accessories installed to save a buck.

So I am really happy that I have made my bike the best it can be (not the best bike out there) with the exception of the windshield which I may be stuck with due to my height. If the Hondaline windshield did/does fit correctly for me then I will indeed have accomplished my goal of having my bike the best it can be and without compromise of quality.

I know, I know..... way way too much time on my hands .... LOL

THE SUPER SECRET of any motorcycle-----Make it fit you no matter what you have to do to it. Make YOURSELF happy with it. If you have to change something to do that----DO IT! The only person the bike needs to make happy IS YOU! Yeah, I do love my Sabre! Done some stuff to make me happier with it and as of yet, I can see no replacement for it!
