I have a 1990 1100 with 2003 sabre carbs, I think the air vent valve from the 2003 might be necessary to allow a controlled leak into the carbs . but I am guessing. does anyone know how these valves work I see testing methods for the valve but the tests dont answer my question, my question is does the vent air valve allow only a ertain amount of air thru it at all times or is it variable. will I need this valve to make the bike run right and if so will I need all emissions from the 2003 sabre system to make it work right or just the air vavle ( the one im talking about connets inbetween the carburetors at the common vacuum port i think it is called a air vent tube, it connnects the carbs together.

Do you mean the secondary airfilter? It is a plastic rectangle about 1 x 1 x 2 inches with hoses that connect to each carb.
If so, I happen to have a spare that I'm willing to part with.
