Default Need help buying 14" Apes (Z Bars) for Honda Shadow

I am looking for some help buying these apes for my 2005 Honda Shadow Spirit 750DC. I am fully aware that 14" apes will require me to replace/extend the throttle cables, as well as have to extend the clutch line and brake line. However, I am 6' 4" , an where the bars are located right now, they are way to low for me to ride for long distances comfortably.

Anyways, I sent the seller a question about them fitting my bike, and I am not quite sure exactly what he means. I will attach the entire conversation here, and any help would be more than appreciated!

Here is a picture of the bars:

Ok so to do some quick googling and surfing I've got a few things for you. Yes your bars are most likely 1". The Knurling is the hatch marks on the handle bars where your risers will clamp to them. The spacing he talks about is from the center of one to the other. Basically measure the space between your risers (where the handle bars meet up with those vertical do-dads) don't know how much you don't know so ta-da!

Q) What is does Knurled mean?
A) Knurled is a roughed up section on the Handlebar where the risers attach to in order to help prevent the handlebars from slipping. Unfortunately this Knurled area is centered for Harleys which use a 3.5" spread for the risers. Most Metric Cruisers don't use this spread. This means if you own a metric model with a 4" spread and use a knurled handlebar, some of the Knurled area will show between the risers. The good news is Knurled isn't required as risers can clamp down on smooth bars with enough force that they aren't likely to move.

Also side note. Make sure these are actually the height you want. Have you tried mocking something up with cardboard or something? He said the total raise would actually be only 12" since the bars angle down at the end.

The turndown will lop some of the height off the bars.

I switched out my bars with aftermarkets and the knurled section sticks out a bit on the outside of each riser. The good thing was that having the same amount of knurling sticking out on either side made it simple to eyeball the bars installation to be perfectly centered.
