Default Bypassing Coolant to Carburetor

I was wondering, has anybody bypassed coolant to the carburetor by just connecting those 2 hoses? Would this cause performance issues?

Try again. There should be no coolant to a carb.

What they said... you should give some background on what it is you're trying to accomplish and maybe toss a photo of what it is you're talking about.

I pulled the carburetor out to be cleaned and there were 2 small diameter hoses that I removed and coolant came out. I think one hose went to the intake manifold and the other hose connected somewhere to the front of the bike.

Uhm. If there's coolant. There's a reason. Even bypassing that (if possible or even warranted) isn't going to give any power. It's only a coolant passage.

There is no coolant to the carbs on any bike..it is like putting nipples on a man..

I have to disagree. I think there are # of liquid cooled bikes that have coolant lines that run to the carburetor.

Can you take and post pictures of the hoses you're talking about... or the carburetors you're talking about?

There is no coolant run into the carburetor on any bike, and no reason I can think of to do that. Somewhere in here there is a simple misunderstanding.

I see you have a VLX. What year? If it's 00+ they only have a single carburetor, and there's for sure something very amiss here.

:edit: I saw 2003 in another post of yours. So yeah that's a single carb'd bike. Here's a schematic:

There's nothing there for coolant. You have fuel and vacuum hoses and that's it.
