1983 VT750C ICU location (Ignition Control Unit)

My 750 Shadow has a small 2x4x1 black box labeld ICU-07 ME9 Hitachi, Ltd.
It is wired to the two spark units that sit below the passenger seat, and also connected to the harness

Question: Where should the ICU be mounted?
I have checked both the Honda VT750 Service Manual, and a Clymer manual. I can't even find a picture of the unit, nor find it on the wiring diagrams.

Normally I have it sitting below the front seat, just above the airbox intake. Two days ago I stupidly put it in the airbox intake (It fit great), and threw me for a 12 hour maintenance adventure.

Do any of you 83 Shadow owners have this same unit?

I will attach some pictures to explain, thank you.

The 1983's have 2 ignition control units usually sitting under the passenger seat top of fender.
That looks like the tail light bulb warning box (7 wires) that turns on a warning light on the dash when a bulb burns out for the tail or brake light. It should be mounted either under the air box, or like mine in front of the air box on a rubber strap.

Here is the Honda manual for our bike provided by the great people here. I have studied it and has answered a lot of questions.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

At first I was thinking that the icu-7 ME9 would fit under the airbox, to the left of the fuel pump, but there already is a unit in place at that location.
There is a little room under the right side cover (air filter cover) to put the unit there, but there is not a mounting point like shown in some of the diagrams.
I ended up putting the unit in the that location which seems like a good place for it, much better then under the seat.

I wanted to update this because I just went through my electrical system on my 1983 Honda Shadow VT750c

The Service Manual only shows 2 spark unit one and a Open Circuit Warning Unit for the 1983, but I have also have the Spark Unit 2 (which is shown on the 84 model)

The two spark units are under the passenger seat.

"Spark Unit 2" should be on the front outside of the airbox, above the starter motor.

The Open Circuit Warning Unit or Stop and Tail Warning System Unit is located on the top right side of the airbox

Example Part numbers (all from my 1983 VT750C):
Spark Unit (1) Under passenger seat (two of them): IC IGNITOR TID12-11 ME9 Hitachi (Yellow label)
Spark Unit (2) should be in front of airbox near starter motor: ICU-07 ME9 Hitachi (Green label)
The Open Circuit Warning Unit or Stop and Tail Warning System Unit: HD-841-01-TL

Reading some other threads on this subject, one member mentioned that certain models of the 1983 VT750C might have spark unit 2, while others might not.

In my case, someone had re-wired it before I purchased the bike, they swapped locations of the Stop&Tail unit with the Spark Unit 2.

Attached are some pictures.
