Does anyone know if this is feasible, or would a person be better off getting a new bike?
A friend of mine (sportster rider) told me about a kit harley makes to turn an 883 into a 1200 and its relatively cheap. I have not been able to find anything like that for the shadows. This all came about because I bought the bike thinking that the wife wouldn't ride much and now she is really getting into the riding. Two up works on the bike but it does seem to lose quite a bit of pep. Also, for those guys that have similar bike with all the mods... how much of a difference do the mods make on a 2-up situation? I only have modified stock exhaust, original jets, and stock filter. I plan on pulling the main jets and swapping them for larger ones next week when the UNI filter shows up. (hopefully that helps some) Thanks for any advice!

The 1100's are shaft drive, while the 750's are chain. That would mean a complete rear end change/redesign. The Harley's you spoke of, while I haven't seen them, are mostly likely a stroker kit. It might and probably does have a jug and piston replacement too. Your talking about a 20 cubic inch increase, which could only really be done that way.

You can get cams, higher compressions pistons, etc which people have dyno'd around 70+ HP after compared to the 40 or so stock HP but it's all about how much moner are you willing to spend and how much is a bigger bike going to cost you instead.

You will not get much if any with the mods you are talking about, so don't waste your $$$$$'s.

Well, thanks for everyones responses. She doesn't think she can handle riding by herself. She is only 120 lbs, I know there are small women that ride but if she is scared to be in control of the bike I don't think I want to influence her in anyway.
Which leads me to the conclusion that we will have to find a bigger bike someday. Maybe we should start playing the lottery
