Default Slow speed turning 03 Shadow Ace Dlx.

Hi all, Newbie here with questions ref slow speed turning. 2003 Shadow ACE Dlx. (Wife's Bike) I noticed that when turning right or left, the handle bars seem to get to a point that it suddenly drops off in direction of the turn. It takes some muscle to straighten it back up. Normal or should I check the fall-away of font wheel. Seems to ride just fine otherwise. I installed lowering kit on rear (2") otherwise stock. Did not notice if problem existed prior to lowering it. Suggestions would be appreciated.
PS I ride Harleys with little experience with Hondas.
Thanks, Bill

I have the exact same bike, and I don't recall seeing it do that. Are you talking about a full lock turn?

Yes full lock turn, when about 2 thirds turn it just seems to fall to full and then it is a little harder to turn back to straight. Up until 2/3 it is smooth and normal. Bike purchased in July this year (07) with 4500 on spedo.
I guess I will remove the lowering kit and see if it is still there.
What do you recommend checking before I remove the lowering blocks.
Thanks again
Bill

To be honest, I am not really sure what to tell you to check. Maybe one of the other techies will jump in. I took mine out for a "ride around the block", and checked it again, and I don't seem to see that happening.

Hey thanks.

I can just sit on it and turn the handlebars either way, and at about the 2/3 point I can feel the front end kinda drop down. It takes some effort to turn it back to center and I can feel the front raise up. Neither of my Harleys (Classic or Sporster) do this. I lowered the rear about 2 inches and maybe it caused the center of gravity to change. I will talk to Honda Tuesday and/or remove the lowering blocks.
Thanks
Bill

yes remove the lowering blocks to see if it goes away, if it dosent , then raise the front end and check your tree bearing (the stearing bearings) to see of there sloppy or gritty if so , it might be time for new bearings, if not gritty then retourq to specs

Follow UP.. Just contacted Scoot Works... They advised that this is normal when lowering rear only. They suggest I install the front lowering kit and this should take care of the proble.
Thanks for help
