Need help, rear turn signals 2000 Sabre

I've been having trouble with my turn signals, I thought it was the bulbs but after I started snooping around it appears some parts inside the light housing have been changed. This is where I need help from another Sabre owner.

On my ride I took out both of the rear turn signal bulbs. The bulbs were both dual filament amber bulbs since it bike has smoke covers. The problem I found is with the part in the middle of the housing where the bulb makes contact. On the left I see two contacts, on the right I see one contact. Which should it be, one contact or two? Also does anyone know where I can order that piece? I need to order a few because my front left blinker has two contacts but its melted a little bit. So how many contacts should be in the front and rear housings from the factory?

Somewhere along the line, the rear signals were changed out for a dual element lights. This would allow the bike to have running lights in the rear. They probably just put a set of front signals on (which are dual elements). Since you have one of each, I would say that after doing this modification, the bike was dropped and busted the rear signal. Since the previous owner didn't have another front signal to put in its place, he put the stock signal back on.

I honestly don't see any problems with this...other than the lights/bulbs are not the same. One side will be on while running and the other will not. As far as I know, there are no laws saying that if you have running lights in the rear, you have to have both on.

Personally, I would replace the single element with a dual element fixture to have the added visibility at the rear of the bike.
