Has anyone installed a larger Fuel tank on a VLX 600?

Hi Folks

(take two on the post)

I have a 2006 VLX - 2.9 Gal fuel Tank.

Has one every installed a larger capacity fuel tank? Say off of a Spirit 750?

What about those third party extensions. Then you could remove them when you're not travelling.

Do you mean like those red cans they sell at K-Mart?

Tempting to prove a point and may be some pictures sent back Honda will get the message across.

I've heard tell that the tank from a Shadow 1100 will fit nicely on a VLX with only a small bit of modification. See the VLX forum for more on this.

The Tour Tank Looks kinda Cool - Not what I am looking for.

Hey man, don't go there. Just use a used tank. Check this link

http://forums.delphiforums.com/n/mb/...s&msg=25790.90

this forum has all resources dedicated to VLX600s

Good luck,

btw, you can also use magna tanks, spirit tanks, and ace tanks... just search around on that forum

daewon,

I couldn't get anything out of that link much.

You mean my 94 VT600C (VLX) can accept a larger tank from another model? Wow, that' might be worth switching tanks for longer trips!

That link is the end-all-be-all of everything VLX-mod-related. Tons of people there have done a bigger tank on the VLX. Most use the Spirit or the Ace tank.

If it's been done to a VLX, the folks there have done it.

Here is a post that has 80+ messages about putting larger tanks on...
