Hi all, me again, stock 85 shadow 700, sometimes I ride in short pants and have burnt myself a few times on the pipe, mainly on the left side. I've noticed what looks like some sorta oval shaped bracket on the exhaust pipe possibly for some kinda insulation to prevent such mishaps? If this is true, anyone know where I can get one of these? Thanks again.

The oval shaped thing is part of the heat shield. it stays cool enough to rest your leg on it if you are wearing jeans like one is supposed to do when they ride.
I won't suggest any ways of reducing the heat, because honestly, I really think you should not be wearing shorts while riding. Your skin is the largest organ on your body, and riding a bike in shorts is like running with scissors pointed at your heart. |
