I finally got my 95 vlx 600 today and I'm loving it compared to the crotch rocket I've been riding for a while...much more comfortable. It has 15,000 miles on it and runs good (needs some cosmetic tlc). I had a couple questions though, as I only have sport bike experience. When I'm pulling off in 1st, it starts smooth, and about 1/2 - 3/4 clutch out, it grabs some. Is it maybe the clutch that needs to be adjusted, or maybe chain tension? The other thing I was a little concerned about is the front brake. It too is a bit grabby, I'll pull it in some and it will slow, but when I need to brake a little faster, it wants to grab. Same question, adjust the brake, maybe bleed it, or is that the way they are? Any input would be appreciated.
