Again, i'm in the final stages of putting a vt700 back together. There is a large vacuum line that comes off of both carbs and runs backwards. Using my manual and looking around on the bike i can't figure out where it hooks up to. Please help. Thank you.

I believe that goes to a round thing with three fittings on it that is behind the radiator and below the ignition coils, not sure without taking off my gas tank though. Check on the inside of one of your side covers it may have the diagram there.

There's also a hose that fits between the carbs and it connects to nothing. it an atmospheric vent. it fits between the carbs where the sync linkage is, and you just leave it there floating in space, but in such a way that it doesn't interfere with the movement of the throttle assembly. It's 1/4" or 5/16" vacuum line.

The carbs on my '84 VT700 only had two fuel lines connected and a splitter that connects both carbs to a black hose that winds its way back and down, ending under the secondary fuel tank. It's just a vent hose, and you should be able to freely blow through it to check for obstructions.
